I have walked this path before you
Birth & Death have been two of my life’s greatest teachers. My first initation into the world of death and grief came when I was 25 Years old and my first love died. When I witnessed his last breath & his soul leaving his body, my life changed forever.
Since then I have gathered many more years, I am 40 while writing this in 2023. I worked in Palliative Care as an RN supporting people their families in having dialogue about and prepare for death and dying. I witnessed many last breathe’s during my years as an RN. I trained as a Deathwalker & Celebrant with Zenith Virago in 2024.
I started attending Births in my mid 20’s, so when I met my next great love, my husband Owyn in my early 30’s I was so excited to experience pregnancy, birth & mothering. What I did not anticipate, was having 6 pregnancies & births & 2 living children.
For me, grief has come in waves, ebbing & flowing like the ocean, shifting & changing through the seasons of my life. Sometimes huge overwhelming waves crashing onto me unexpectedly, other times just gentle reminders and remembering of my loved ones in spirit.
